Just follow the seven steps below to determine your solution:

Step 1: Select the appropriate printer for your requirements.

Choose an IntelliBar Label Printer. There are several models of IntelliBar printers that can print a single label or thousands of labels with crisp 300 dpi text, graphics and barcodes directly from your Macintosh. Determine the model of printer for your requirements by choosing the print width and print speed for your needs:
  1. IntelliBar Model M48
4.25" max print width, 300 dpi, speeds up to 8 ips*

  2. IntelliBar Model M412
4.25" max print width, 300 dpi, speeds up to 12 ips

  3. IntelliBar Model M88
8.65" max print width, 300 dpi, speeds up to 8 ips

*ips = inches per second

Step 2: Choose the connectivity solution for your Macintosh system.

IntelliBar printers integrate with Macintosh systems by using PowerPrint connectivity solutions. The PowerPrint solutions also provide the necessary Macintosh printer driver for the IntelliBar.

  • Ethernet 10BaseT Solution
Connect the IntelliBar to an Ethernet network using the PowerPrint Ethernet connectivity package. In addition to sharing the IntelliBar with any other Macintosh systems on the network, the PowerPrint Ethernet solution also enables the sharing of an IntelliBar with PC's or other non-Macintosh computers on the network.

  •  Step 3: Choose Macintosh Label Design Software.
You can print to an IntelliBar printer directly from a Macintosh using virtually any software application. However, if you need Macintosh label design software, several choices are available on the Barcode and Label Design Software page.

Step 4: Choose the right label for your requirement.
Labels should be selected based on the required life expectancy of the label, the environmental demands made on the label, requirements for durability, resistance to abrasion and consideration for the surface to which the label is expected to adhere. IntelliTech supplies thermal labels that are available in an extensive selection of paper and synthetic media with an equally broad selection of adhesives. IntelliTech offers two label programs that meet almost any requirement.
IntelliTech Ready Label Program - A broad selection of thermal labels available in standard sizes and materials ready for quick shipment.

IntelliTech Custom Label Program - Thermal labels that are custom designed and manufactured to specifically satisfy your requirements. A broad selection of thermal tag and ticket media is also available.

For help in choosing a label that meets your requirements, visit the IntelliTech University Media Selection page.
Step 5: Choose the correct IntelliBar thermal transfer ribbon for your specific label.
IntelliBar Ribbons are available in several sizes, ink types and colors. The type of IntelliBar Ribbon used should be selected based on the label material and the required image durability.

For help choosing a ribbon type, visit the IntelliTech University Ribbon Selection page.
Step 6: Select any necessary printer options for your needs.
IntelliBar printers can be configured with a variety of options for particular media handling needs, such as an internal or external label rewinder, a media cutter, or a specialty media sensor. Additional memory and a high visibility Vacuum Fluorescent display are also available.

Visit the IntelliBar options pages to review the various options available.

Step 7: Choose the service program that meets your needs.
A variety of post-warranty service arrangements are available for IntelliBar printers, ranging from simple time and materials billing to premium service contracts that provide overnight delivery of a loaner printer until your printer is repaired. For details of the IntelliBar Service contracts, visit the IntelliTech Service Programs section.
